In the wake of Hurricane Milton, one Florida foundation is putting its money where its mouth is.
The Patterson Foundation has donated up to $3 million to help victims of the storm in Sarasota and Charlotte counties, reports the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.
"In response to Hurricane Milton's potential impact on southwest Florida and the palpable angst shared across our region, the Patterson Foundation is contributing up to $3 million in new disaster relief and recovery funding," the foundation said in a statement.
The money will go to mental and behavioral health services, legal services, children and youth services, and long-term recovery efforts.
